The first plays to have this done will be Slaughterhouse, It Runs in the Family and Improbable Fiction - this is because there are sets on flickr already for each of these plays.

In the meantime our flickr photostream can be found at the following :-

The photos and programme for this will be uploaded nearer the production run.

  11. Just a bit of tidying up to do on the A to Z productions pages - some links for the productions are already on - these show as being underlined, as soon as all productions are linked the underlining will be removed.

  12. Started re-designing the past production index pages so that when clicking on the menu it goes straight to the most recent productions and then each decade page has links to other decade pages

  23. Started work on the page for "Love Letters" - will be completed within the next two weeks

  24. Cemetery Club dates are now correct - this is on from Tuesday 5th to Saturday 9th May 2009 not 4th to 8th - sorry for any confusion

  28. THE CURSE OF “THE SCOTTISH PLAY” STRIKES

It’s always been said in theatrical circles that Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” is unlucky and even the mention of the name is frowned upon but it would seem to also apply to derivations thereof as Blackburn Arts Club’s planned first play of the season “The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen’s Guild Dramatic Society Production Of Macbeth” has had to be cancelled due to unforeseen and unavoidable production problems.

A club spokesman said “We hope no-one feels bitterly disappointed but to soften the blow we intend to stage a version of A.R. Gurney’s play ‘Love Letters’ although the short notice means it will only be shown over two nights rather than the usual five – so please book to avoid further disappointment!”

“Love Letters” has been described as a unique and imaginative piece based around letters exchanged over a lifetime by childhood friends who go their separate ways but still share confidences. What emerges from their letters is an evocative, touching, frequently funny but always telling character study in which what is implied is as revealing and meaningful as what is actually written down.

The play will run at the Gibraltar St theatre on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th Sept at 7.30pm. For ticket details phone 01254 664642 or 52910.

  31. Next season's play details have been added on the future productions page and the page for "Improbable Fiction" has been created - this is currently being worked on. This should be ready by the end of the week.

  32. Improbable Fiction photos will be uploaded some time next week now that the production has finished.

  33. Corrected the dates for "Improbable Fiction" - should read 6th to 10th May not 5th to 10th May - Thank you Alastair (Arnold) - well spotted!

  34. Just to let everyone know that some updates will be done over the next few weeks - havent had much time last few weeks to update the site

  35. Added some links for local interest websites

  36. Navigation buttons are now present on all productions from "When We Are Married" (2001) upto "Sing On" (2000) - also each of these pages should have the correct heading - but not necessarily the author, producer, season and date just yet.

Also made the date and time visible on all pages rather than just on the home page.

watch this space for more updates tomorrow.

  37. Added 3 more playwrights to the links page - "Simon Brett", "Seymour Matthews" & "Oscar Wilde"

  38. Started tidying up past production pages starting from first production in "2000" and working forwards. Initially each page will have its correct title but not necessarily any pictures, programmes, posters or cast/crew details yet.

Navigation buttons have also been added.

Also updated the list of past production pages so that you can navigate between decades and 1980s - 1940s have the correct years in the title but the list of productions is not available yet

  46. Added a button on "Audience with Murder" page to go back to the list of productions from the 2000s

  47. Added navigation buttons on "Audience with Murder" and "Steaming" pages to go to next and previous productions so that you can scroll through all of the productions backwards and forwards.

  48. The past production page for "Audience with Murder" is now complete. This has links from each person to their own page (these pages may not yet be complete though), poster and programme available along with a photo gallery for this play.

I am currently working on "Steaming" - this has a photo gallery available - some of the cast/production links are working but the programme or the poster is not available yet.
